Skincare Build Your Own Box

The world of eCommerce is BEYOND saturated. It's time to come up with creative ways for people to shop, such as we did here for Melanin in America for their product bundle wizard - custom made!

The Project

The challenge

The beauty industry is highly competitive with new brands popping up on a daily basis, so when we were approached by the Melanin in America team we were really excited to be a part of this impactul brand. They sell a variety of beauty, cosmetics, makeup, and skin care products to international markets. As a means to improve their average cart value they approached us to help them create a solution for shoppers to build their own product box with only the products they desire.

The solution

Rather than sticking to the limited features of an existing app that also has a monthly cost, we created our own custom wizard that starts on its own landing page where the shopper is led through the journey of adding one product for each type of beauty item, that way we do not overwhelm the customer but pique their interest just enough to add to their custom box. The shopper is not forced to buy from each product type, they can comfortably select whatever they choose to.

Design Thinking

The website design is vibrant and eye-catching, with a focus on showcasing the unique and innovative face pillows and vegan skin care products that are available for purchase.

The website is designed to be user-friendly, with a simple and intuitive layout that makes it easy to navigate through the various categories of products. Customers can browse through the different skin care lines, which are designed to cater to specific skin types and needs. The products are made with natural and vegan ingredients, which are gentle on the skin and free from harmful chemicals.

Overall, Melanin In America's project design is focused on celebrating cultural diversity and promoting self-care and self-love.

User Experience Thinking

It is important to consider the UX when creating such an ecommerce solution as you want to be able to give the shopper enough information to buy, but being the nature of beauty products, it is also essential for shoppers to see the product details. To solve this we created a modal that pops up with the product description for anyone to see without having to leave the wizard which would defeat the purpose.
