5% Nutrition was expanding to markets in Canada, the UK, and Europe. Most clients we work with in international expansions do so because of the target audience & marketing message they may have across different markets, requiring the need for different types of banners, but in this case it was more complex. Being a supplements business means having local restrictions in terms of descriptions, claims & ingredients. Therefore they needed to also manage products differently & synchronized across different shops (markets). Also the company needed to keep the brand and UX aligned across the globe but with an efficient posting process across all stores.
We implemented a system using webhooks & middleware to sync content across the different Shopify Plus stores such as products, blogs, and images.
We also implemented code cleanup & best practices to improve the site speed which is essential for an eCommerce store. As well, the client now has the ability to create page & blog posts from the main store. That way, their process is centralized and easier to manage, reducing in 75% the time spent in updating all the sites.
International Stores Synchronization
The sync we created is tailored for the needs of this particular shop. We created a custom script to sync the specific content, code and metafields files according to the client’s process. This now allows the company to sync the standard structure for products, pages, blogs, layout and marketing scripts without having to overwrite all of the data that belongs to each region.
Product Template Improvement
We created a mobile template for a special line of products, optimizing the current existing product page by organizing the information with a hierarchy to enhance the design. We also made sure to include interactive reviews, videos sections optimized and accordion organization of product information - the best practices in eCommerce.
With this new implementation their process is centralized and easier to manage, reducing in 75% the time spent in updating all the sites in the different international markets.
